Iran’s prominent director Asghar Farhadi has been invited to attend the Middle East Now festival in Italy as a special guest.

The festival will also feature a number of the Oscar-winning director’s films, including ‘Fireworks Wednesday’, ‘A Separation’, ‘About Elly’, ‘The Past’ and ‘The Salesman’.

Farhadi received two Oscars. He won the first Oscar for the movie 'A Separation' in 2012. In 2017, 'The Salesman' brought him the second Oscar for Best Foreign Language Film.

Farhadi’s latest film 'Everybody Knows' starring Javier Bardem and Penelope Cruz was premiered at the 2018 edition of the Cannes Film Festival.

The Italian event will also screen several other Iranian movies such as ‘Hendi & Hormoz’ directed by Abbas Amini, ‘Bomb a Love Story’ made by Peyman Maadi and Ali Jaber-Ansari’s ‘Tehran: City of Love’.

The 10th edition of the Middle East Now festival will take place in the Italian city of Florence on April 2-7, 2019.
